Meet the San Diego Team Behind Fielding ADU San Diego

Every ADU, garage conversion, and room addition we build in San Diego carries one name on the permit: Fielding. But the work itself belongs to a small, steady crew of people you’ll actually see on your property. These are the folks who show up in uniform, knock before they step through the gate, and leave the job site cleaner than they found it. Reed Calloway, Owner, runs the San Diego location for Garrison Partners. He’s been building to The Garrison Standard since 2006, and he hires people who don’t need convincing to do the job square.

Our People

The living room inside a new ADU

Reed Calloway, Owner

Reed has spent nearly two decades in residential construction, most of it on the kind of projects other contractors walk away from: tight lots, old foundations, city planners who want three revisions before breakfast. He started with Garrison Partners in 2006 and opened the San Diego location to focus on one thing – ADUs, additions, and garage conversions done by the book. Reed is the one who hands you the written price before any work starts, and he’s the one who signs the one-year guarantee. If something fails inside that year, he’s the guy who shows back up to make it right. On weekends, Reed can usually be found at a swap meet arguing over the price of a 1950s hand plane he absolutely does not need.

Marcus T., Lead Technician

Marcus leads framing, foundation, and structural work on most of our San Diego builds. He’s been with the crew for over eight years and has framed everything from a 300-square-foot studio ADU in North Park to a two-story garage conversion in La Mesa. Marcus holds a current OSHA 30 certification and is the first person to flag a load-bearing wall that the original plans missed. He has a habit of sketching joist layouts on scrap drywall before anyone swings a hammer. Outside work, Marcus coaches youth soccer at a park in City Heights and claims it’s the only job more chaotic than a foundation pour in July.

Elena R., Service Coordinator

Elena is the voice on the phone when you call (858) 264-3027. She has been coordinating schedules, permits, and inspections for Fielding ADU San Diego for five years, and she knows the City of San Diego’s permit portal better than most architects we work with. Elena handles the written quotes, keeps the schedule honest, and makes sure your set of plans is sitting on the right desk at the right time. She grew up in Chula Vista and still finds it funny how many San Diego homeowners don’t know what a setback variance is until they need one. When she’s not untangling a permit issue, she’s rebuilding a 1972 Datsun with her brother.

Danny O., Apprentice

Danny joined the crew two years ago after finishing a pre-apprenticeship program in construction trades. He works under Marcus on framing and finish work, and he’s the one who keeps the job site tidy enough that you could eat lunch off the plywood stack. Danny is currently working toward his own OSHA certification and has already earned his forklift operator card. He brings an almost alarming enthusiasm for caulk – “a clean bead changes everything” is something he has said out loud more than once. On his days off, Danny fishes off the pier in Ocean Beach and gives half of whatever he catches to the guy next to him.

One Standard, Every Job

The Garrison Code is what we operate by: show up in the window, put the price in writing, build by the book, leave it clean, and stand behind it for a year. That’s not a poster in the office. It’s the actual order of operations on every San Diego project, whether we’re building a conventional addition with James Hardie siding or assembling a prefab unit from Abodu, Cover, Dvele, Mighty Buildings, Boxabl, or Plant Prefab. Every crew member on your property is background-checked before they set foot on site. Every quote is written before work begins. And the 365-Day Done Right Promise means one full year of coverage on workmanship defects. If something fails, we come back and correct it at no charge. No phone tag, no fine print, no “that’s not covered.” Reed and the team stake their names on that.
